Why use granules against powder dyes?

There are many advantages of using granular food colours vs powder food dyes.
Most dyestuffs when in powder form emit a lot of dust when being used.
Non dusting property of granular colours results in improved working conditions for workers and keeps the plant environment and machinery clean.
Granular color also helps to reduce powder loss on account of dusting.
Granules do not float on water, has reduced settling time and therefore dissolves faster than powders & extruded products.
Unlike powders, granular colours do not stick to the inside of the vessels in which they are used. This helps to avoid cleaning to the extent required while using the powders.
Non-dusting properties of granular food colour mean the virtual elimination of cross contamination arising out of the fluffy powders.
Granular food dye flows much faster and easier from your transfer equipment. Most dyes, particularly FD&C Red 40, FD&C Yellow 5 & FD&C Yellow 6 are hygroscopic in nature and hence are difficult to transfer in humid conditions. You will not have such difficulties with granular colours.
